ZenDXB testing guides

Does a ZenDXB urine STD panel include HIV?

Check the named targets and the sample required. The number in a panel’s name does not tell you whether HIV testing is included.

Which ZenDXB panels include HIV blood markers?

The rapid 11-panel, 14-panel and 28-panel are urine-based services and do not include HIV or hepatitis blood testing.

The 19-panel and 32-panel combine urine testing with listed blood markers for HIV 1 & 2, HIV p24 antigen, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. Our team can confirm the precise laboratory assays for your appointment.

Compare the panels or open the complete target lists. This guide describes ZenDXB’s current panel listings, not every type of urine or HIV test available elsewhere.

Why an additional blood sample matters

A urine panel only assesses the targets included in that laboratory panel. Adding a blood component changes what the programme can investigate; it is not the same as collecting a larger urine sample.

If you choose a combined panel through home collection, you still need the blood sample. It can be collected in clinic, or a home visit can be arranged for an additional charge. Confirm both collection arrangements before booking.

Ask which test is being used and when to take it

HIV tests differ in what they detect and how soon they can detect it. An early negative result may need follow-up. Ask your doctor to identify the test method and explain the timing that applies to you.

Our testing-window guide includes general CDC reference ranges. Those ranges should not be taken as proof of the laboratory method used for your individual booking.

What happens after a result?

Your included follow-up GP consultation helps explain the laboratory findings and appropriate next steps. These may include additional testing, treatment, follow-up or referral. A reactive HIV screening result requires follow-up testing for confirmation; your doctor will explain that process.

When medication is prescribed, ZenDXB can arrange delivery and confirm any charges. The appropriate treatment depends on the diagnosis and clinical assessment.

For a possible HIV exposure within the past 72 hours, seek urgent medical assessment for PEP. Do not wait for a routine appointment or test result.
